Two local girls bake for local children’s hospice

Two girls from Westcliff have put on their aprons and baked up £100 for their local children’s hospice.

Siblings Alice, 8 and Harriet, 9 baked and sold cupcakes to their family and friends in December in aid of Little Havens Hospice in Benfleet.

Alice says, “We raised £71 by selling cupcakes and it was rounded up to £100! We really hope the money allows the children to go on great adventures because they deserve it.”

Alice presented her cheque for £100 at Little Havens to Community Fundraiser, Emma Young from Havens Hospices. She said, “It was a pleasure to meet Alice, who along with her sister Harriet, have kindly raised a generous amount of money for children and their families who are cared at Little Havens.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to them both for their kindness and generosity in organising a bake sale – it is because of people like them we are able to provide palliative nursing and supportive care to children living with complex and incurable conditions.”

Alice, Harriet and their mum will be taking a tour around Little Havens soon to see how the money they raised will help the children and their families at the hospice.
