Take a ‘Tee Break’ with Havens Hospices at Corporate Golf Day

A local hospice charity is on the lookout for teams from local businesses to join them at their annual charity golf event which raises vital funds for its care.

After having to cancel last year’s event due to the pandemic, Havens Hospices’ Corporate Golf Day will return on Thursday 8th July at Stock Brook Country Club.

Over the past four years the event has raised thousands of pounds for Havens Hospices which provides palliative nursing and supportive care to children, young people and adults living with complex or incurable conditions in the comfort of their homes or at its two hospices.  Every pound raised will help the charity to continue providing its free essential services such as respite, end of life care, symptom control and bereavement support.

Teams of four cost £280 and the programme for the Golf Day begins with tea or coffee and a breakfast roll on arrival, followed by a fun 18-hole round of golf where teams will compete for the winner’s trophy.  Teams will also enjoy a two-course meal once they have completed their round of golf and for an additional donation, participants will have a chance to play in a ‘Million Dollar Hole’ and ‘Nearest the pin’ competitions.

Another way to support the charity is for local businesses to sponsor one or more of the 18 holes on the course. An advert for the company will be displayed at each hole that they sponsor.

Lydia Plews, Senior Business Development Officer at Havens Hospices says: “We can’t wait to welcome back our corporate supporters to our popular Golf Day at the wonderful Stock Brook Country Club so we can continue to raise much needed funds for our hospice care. This will be one of our first public fundraising events to return this year after the charity had to cancel all its events due to the pandemic. Our care hasn’t stopped during the Coronavirus pandemic. In fact, the demand for our care increased, so we must continue to fundraise so we can be there for everyone who needs us, whenever they need us.

“The event is a great way to entertain clients, network with other local businesses or just to have a fun day out with your colleagues whilst supporting a great local cause. If there are some businesses that can’t make the July date, we have another Corporate Golf Day taking place on Thursday 7th October this year.”
