The 60-clay competition will take place on Thursday 4th June at The Fennes Shooting School to raise money for Little Havens. The event also includes two optional pay challenge stands on the course, one of which is a ten-clay pool shoot challenge and a free go for this is included in the entrance fee.
The day begins at 9am with breakfast in the Shoot Hall and there are mid-morning refreshments for the competitors. Each entrant will be given a gift and there will be a reception and delicious three course lunch in The Manor House as well as the prize giving, a raffle and an auction. The day finishes at 4.30pm.
It costs £175 per person to take part – cartridges are included and guns and tuition can be provided as the event is open to both novice and experienced shooters. The competition is for teams of four but individual entry is welcome as participants can be placed in a team.
Since it first began in 2014, the shoot has raised an impressive £106,500 for the charity, to help it to continue supporting families from across Essex when they have been told that there is no cure for their child’s illness.
Mandy Beglan, a volunteer for Havens Hospices who organises the event said, “We really appreciate the support and generosity the shooting community have shown us year after year. This year we would love to see even more people join us for a great day out, whilst also raising money for a fantastic cause. Little Havens do not charge a penny for their care services and needs to raise over £40,000 each week to be there for every child and family that needs its care and if it wasn’t for everyone’s support at our fundraising events, the hospice would not exist.”
