Logoplaste, which has a manufacturing plant in Hedley Avenue, Grays, donated the incredible sum after winning their company’s Marcel de Botton Sustainability Award for top performing plant, named after the founder of the company.
The awards recognise Logoplaste plants across the world, with two awards for the best and the most improved sustainability. Winners receive a €25,000 (£22,000) donation to a local non-profit in the community and the Thurrock plant chose Essex’s children’s hospice Little Havens.
The hospice relies on donations from the community to fund its specialist care and support to babies, children, young people, and their families, so everyone in the community can get the most from life, and make every day count. The hospice must raise more than £52,000 a week to ensure it’s there for everybody who needs them. This care is provided completely free of charge thanks to donations like Logoplaste’s.
Ross Brewer, Logoplaste Thurrock’s Plant Manager said: “On behalf of everybody at Logoplaste Thurrock I am delighted to donate the sum of £22,000 to Little Havens. Logoplaste and Little Havens share a similar vision for our communities, so it was an easy choice when deciding on our chosen charity.
“We all face challenges in life and at times rely on support from friends and loved ones who help us overcome these. In cases where we need more than just friends and family around us, Little Havens provides beyond that, supporting our communities in unimaginable situations through end of life care, incurable conditions and complex needs. I hope Logoplaste’s donation helps to raise awareness of the exceptional work they do and help support future families in need of their care.”Rossella Inguscio, Corporate Fundraiser at Havens Hospices, the charity which Little Havens is a part of said: “It never ceases to amaze us how generous our local communities are, helping us to continue providing a wide range of support and care to children and young people across Essex.
“Thanks to Logoplaste’s kind donation, Little Havens will continue to give local families more time, more opportunities to do what’s important to them, more choice, and more control over their care, supporting everyone in our community to make every day of their life count. On behalf of everybody at Little Havens, thank you.”
