Inter-Church Trust raises funds for local Hospice

The Inter Church Trust in the area, has been raising money to help provide nursing care at Fair Havens.

The Inter Church Trust which cares for elderly and disabled people in the area, has been raising money to help provide nursing care at Southend’s Fair Havens Hospice.

Fair Havens is part of Havens Hospices which cares for adults, young people and children across Essex with life-limiting illnesses. The charity does not charge a penny for any of the care and support they provide and receive very little government funding, so rely on the generosity of the local community to do this.

The charity, which operates a free Saturday morning club as well as a Tuesday luncheon club raised  £15,000, and John Davey from the  Inter Church Trust presented a cheque to  Fair Havens  at the Hospice on the 11th December 2019.

Louise Gloyne, Head of Philanthropy, Grants and Partnerships for the Hospice, said “We are grateful for this wonderful donation for the care of patients at Fair Havens, and the support of the Inter Church Trust in helping us to continue the care we offer to those who need it.”
