Havens Hospices is inviting families to go back in time and hunt for dinosaurs this Easter to raise money for their local hospice.
The Dino Trail is taking place on Sunday 29th March from 11am to 3pm at Little Havens Hospice in Daws Heath Road in Benfleet, set within its beautiful landscaped gardens.
The charity’s Dino Trail fundraising event is an Easter Egg hunt with a twist. The trail will take visitors through the Sensory Gardens at Little Havens – Essex’s only children’s hospice – to hunt for dinosaurs to win a prize.
There will also be food and drink vendors, face painters, Go Karts, Shetland pony rides and a chance to meet some reptiles, thanks to Essex Reptile Encounters.
The event will be raising money for Havens Hospices, a local charity which provides palliative nursing and supportive care to adults, young people and children living with complex or incurable conditions across Essex. Havens Hospices need to raise over £81,000 each week to be there for everyone who needs them – their care can only exist because of the kind support and generosity of the community.
Event organiser, Emily Tucker said, “We are thrilled to be hosting our third Dino Trail event which is enjoyed by lots of little budding palaeontologists and their families. Last year’s Dino Trail raised £4000 for Havens Hospices and we hope to raise even more this year so we can continue to provide specialist care to those who have been told there is no cure. We hope to see lots of Dino-hunters there!”
The route is accessible to all. Tickets for the event cost £5 per person and sessions must be pre-booked online in advance. Please note that there will be no parking on-site but there will be free parking and shuttle bus service (The T-Rex Express) at USP College in Runnymede Chase, Benfleet. Shuttle buses will run every half hour starting at 10.30am. The event is kindly being sponsored by Robert Stevens and Sons.
