Havens Hospices, which includes Fair Havens, Little Havens and The J’s, has its next skydive taking place on 26th September.
This thrilling challenge is ‘Covid safe’ and will help to raise vital funds for the charity so they can continue to provide specialist end of life care within the home and at its two hospices.
The skydive event will give those taking part a chance to see the beautiful East Coast in a way they have never seen before as they take to the skies over Beccles Airfield in Suffolk.
Havens Hospices supporter Gary Neidus from Thorpe Bay recently experienced the thrill of skydiving for the charity, raising an incredible £1,600 and cannot recommend the experience enough.
He said, “I have always wanted to do a skydive and when my wife Lisa – who works at the charity – mentioned there was an event coming up to raise money for Havens Hospices, I signed up without hesitation as I knew the money I raised would make such a positive difference to everyone they care for.
“Although the nerves kicked in when I got into the plane knowing I was about to jump out at 13,000 feet in the sky, once I dived out the nerves completely went and it was such an amazing experience. I would say to anyone thinking about it to just do it – I couldn’t recommend it enough.”
Emma Hamilton, Challenges Fundraiser for Havens Hospices, said: “Our skydive challenges are a must for anyone who wants to take part in a high-adrenaline and ‘Covid safe’ experience whilst also raising vital funds for a local charity by getting your family and friends to sponsor you. Our skydives and wing walk challenges are also a great and unique gift to give family or friends for a special occasion too.
“We can only exist because of the kindness of our supporters like Gary who take part in these unique experiences, raising vital funds for the charity so we can continue ‘Making every day count’ for everyone we care for.”
