Cocktails for Caring

Budding mixologists are invited to a master class in shaking and stirring the perfect cocktail on Friday 16th August, raising money for two local hospices.

The Cocktails for Caring event is being held at the Slug and Lettuce bar in Chelmsford. The evening begins at 7.30pm with a welcome glass of Prosecco followed by a tutorial on how to create two cocktails that can then be enjoyed. There will also be a buffet followed by a Jagerbomb to finish.

Tickets are only £30 per person with the money raised going to Little Havens Hospice and The J’s Hospice which are both part of the Havens Hospices charity.

Little Havens in Thundersley is the only place in Essex wholly dedicated to caring for babies, children and teenagers with life-limiting illnesses and The J’s provides hospice care in the home and community across Essex for young adults aged 16-40 living with complex or incurable conditions.

Both focus on the individual needs of each person that they care for and their families, helping them to manage their illness as much as possible so they can concentrate on leading a happy and fulfilled life, however short.

Zoe Jay, Community Fundraiser at Havens Hospices, is looking forward to the evening. She explained, “We’re bringing Cocktails for Caring back to Chelmsford as people told us how much they enjoyed it last time. It’s a great opportunity to get together with family, friends and work colleagues for a brilliant, fun night out while raising money for two local hospices that really need your support.

“Little Havens and The J’s don’t charge a penny for the care that we provide. We must raise over £65,000 each week to be there for everyone that needs us, for as long as we’re needed. So please come along and help us to continue ‘Making every day count’ for the babies, children and young adults that really rely on our care.”
