A local garden centre has helped raise more than £1,500 for a local hospice charity.
Riverside Garden Centre in Hockly held a VIP Christmas Shopping Event for Havens Hospices and raised £1,582 for the charity which cares for seriously ill adults and children.
The event on Wednesday 11th October saw shoppers entertained with live music by Gary Driscoll, there was also a raffle and the funds from the night were topped up by staff in the Café who donated their tips from the evening.
Bo Galsworthy who works at Riverside said,
“We are really happy to be able to do something that brings the community together and also raises money for Havens Hospices. We had a fabulous night and are really proud to have raised £1,582. We had live music from Gary Driscoll and cheese and wine for the customers. It was so nice to see people enjoying themselves. Our customers are already asking if we are doing it again next year!
“We would like to thank all of our customers who attended and all our suppliers who donated prizes for the raffle as they helped us to raise such an incredible amount.”
Community Fundraiser for Havens Hospices, Claire Wilson, added,
“On behalf of all the patients, children and their families that we care for I would like to thank all the staff and shoppers of the Riverside VIP Shopping Event for supporting their local hospices. Together, we’re ‘Making every day count’ for those we care for.”
Havens Hospices incorporates Fair Havens Hospice for adults and Little Havens Hospice for children. They provide respite, symptom control and end of life care to those who have been told they have an illness for which there is no cure.
