A lady from Leigh, who has to date raised over £7,000 from three fashion shows will hold another event in April in support of two local charities.
The Silent Commentary Fashion Show and Lunch will take place on Tuesday 5th April at the Genting Casino on Western Esplanade, Westcliff-on-Sea, and tickets are now on sale. The show, which is organised by Rita Roth from Westcliff-on-Sea, is presented by Occasion Boutique based in Chalkwell and will raise money for Havens Hospices and Southend and Westcliff Jewish Community Centre. The event will start at 11.30am with a soft drink reception before guests take their seats for a three course lunch during the Silent Commentary Fashion Show.
Rita Roth, Event Organiser, said “I am a very strong supporter of both charities. Jewish Care provides valuable services to the ‘not so young’ in this area. The Community Centre is wonderful and offers good company, good food and entertainment together with trained support workers. They also provide a Home Care team.
“Fair Havens Hospice and Little Havens Hospice provide care to adults and children with life limiting conditions as well as supporting their families. I firmly believe that these local people should be given the maximum care to ensure their lives are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I have witnessed at first hand the support given to bereaved parents and close friends whose lives have been cut short. My friend spent the last few weeks of her life in a hospice in Yeovil and, believe it or not, they were the happiest weeks of her life.”
During the event there will also be a raffle with prizes generously donated by Lighthouse Financial Services in Hornchurch, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons supermarkets, Thorpe Bay traders and Rita's friends.
Rita added, “I am indebted to Genting Casino and Occasion Boutique without whose generous help this annual function could not take place. I am also lucky to have a super group of friends who all support my efforts.”
At the end of the afternoon a presentation of the proceeds is made to representatives of both charities. Hilary Metcalfe, Community Fundraiser for Havens Hospices, said “Without people like Rita, who so passionately organise such fantastic fundraisers on our behalf, our hospices simply couldn’t exist. I know that Rita’s guests have really enjoyed the previous shows and wish Rita all the best for another successful event this year.”
Tickets are now on sale at £25 each and are available from Occasion Boutique on The Ridgeway, Chalkwell, or by calling 01702 473115.
