Dad was a gentle, fun, caring man who was dearly loved
My Mum found out about this tribute fund in the Fair Havens magazine and asked me if I'd like to set one up for dad.
John was a funny, loving and generous man. He was described by colleagues as a 'gentle giant' and someone 'who never had a bad word to say about anyone'.
He bore his illness with amazing strength and courage, never complaining and always comforting those he loved but knew he would leave.
He was a kind, thoughtful father, a sensitive and caring family man. He looked after his ageing parents, supported colleagues and had time for everyone. Apart from his total obsession with cricket and watching TV, he was the ideal man - and tall, dark and handsome! Anyone who knew John would be able to retell the dreadful jokes which he repeated ad nauseum - he left behind a legacy of love and laughter that few could aspire to.
He is so sorely missed
