Grandad's 8 year battle never got him down!

Grandad loved the outdoors, especially his garden and was also a member of the Southend & District Bowles Club. Although he suffered for 8 years with leukaemia, he never let his family know he was in pain and still managed to chat up the nurses at Fair Havens.

As soon as he put his mind to something, he wouldn't rest until that something was finished, including his shed he had built during his battle!
