A loving, lovely Mum, Grandma, Wife, Auntie and friend.
My Mum, Queenie, was the centre of her family and the life and soul of the party when she was young.
She was always singing and dancing - music was an important part of her life - but without a doubt her life revolved around her family, in particular her two granddaughters, Laura and Emily, whom she adored.
Her last few years were devastated by immobility and dependence which she bore without complaint.
Her love and support, warm hugs and ready smile are missed so much.
Born: 14th March 1916Died: 2nd September 2006
My Dad, Bill, celebrated his 90th birthday only weeks before he died and was thrilled at the number of well-wishers who attended (wearing yellow, his favourite colour), including family members he hadn't seen for years.
Being at home with his family was one of his greatest pleasures He also loved the annual reunions with the veterans of Kohima in York.
He had twice revisited the battlefields in India and was proud to be able to sponsor two Naga children's education as a result of birthday gifts.
He was very proud of all our family's achievements, supportive of whatever we did and great fun to be with.
We spoke almost every day and ALWAYS had a laugh.
Our lives are bereft without him; we miss him enormously.
