Before training for the priesthood I worked for a year at St Christopher's Hospice in South London and discovered at first hand the incredible work that hospices do enabling people to live with dignity until their life's end and then die in peace.

Havens Hospices grew out of a local Baptist vision to provide care for people of all faiths and none when they have life-limiting illnesses. As I pray for Fair Havens for Life I am reminded of Jesus bringing relief and comfort, healing and hope to those with all manner of illness.
I would encourage all Christians and people of goodwill to pray for and support Fair Havens for Life. What a positive spiritual discipline it would be if we all pray for the project daily during Lent, using the Reflections prepared by Revd Jane Guest, one of our Baptist ministers and Chaplain at Fair Havens Hospice.

I believe that we should live every day to the full. Moving Fair Havens Hospice to a new site will improve the quality of life for patients, staff and visitors. Patients will have a fantastic view over the estuary and be able to watch the tides change, as well as trains running past.
Staff will have good facilities all on one site and the visiting experience will be a lot less fraught than at present. I have great pleasure in whole heartedly endorsing the Fair Havens for Life “Faith Appeal.
