Clive was born in the Rhondda Valley, South Wales and was brought up in Pontypridd. He is married to Carole and they are both members of the Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church. They have two grown-up daughters, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
Clive has been the Baptist minister at Biggin Hill, Kent and Chaplain to the local Royal Air Force. He subsequently trained as a secondary school teacher and taught for 33 years at three schools - The Mayflower School, The Greensward School and Southend High School for Boys. Clive is currently an examiner for Religious Studies at the Oxford and Cambridge examining board and Vice Chair of the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education in Southend on Sea.
Alongside his daily work Clive was involved in the leadership team at Earls Hall Baptist Church for 10 years.
In his spare time, Clive loves to spend time with his family, visiting English Heritage and National Trust Properties and all things Welsh! Clive remembers well the early days of Fair Havens Hospice with the excitement it caused in the town and was part of the interested parties during the planning with Daphne Hall, Dr Michael Stuart and Revd. Ian Coffey.
