Sharon ORyan

Sharon lives in Westcliff, Essex, with her husband, David and their son Rory. She is a practising Catholic and plays an active role in church life being the lead Catechist in the First Holy Communion Programme at her parish St Peter’s Eastwood.

She has always lived in the town having been educated at Southend High For Girls and then going on to study Business, Industrial Relations and Employment Law at North East London where she gained a Post Graduate Diploma.

She followed a career in Human Resources and has extensive experience spending nearly 30 years in her profession, holding senior board level positions with exposure to the Public, Private and Charity sectors.

Sharon is now an independent consultant helping small and medium sized businesses in all business and HR related issues and heads up the Maritime HR Forum which is an exciting global initiative in the maritime industry.

Sharon is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel Development (FCIPD), is commencing her ninth year as a Governor at Our Lady of Lourdes School and has recently completed an eight year term as a Trustee for the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society.
